Lists
Ah…another holiday season is upon us. Yeah…I know it’s late to be making a Christmas wish list. But I Facetimed Santa yesterday and he said if I get my list in by the end of today, we’re cool. He also said I’ve been a […]
Ah…another holiday season is upon us. Yeah…I know it’s late to be making a Christmas wish list. But I spoke to Santa directly (via Skype actually) and he said if I get my list in by the 24th, we’re cool. He also said I’ve […]
“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more […]
The year? 2011 The month? October I told Mrs. Dude (who was just Debbie at the time) I was starting a blog about living with celiac disease. She knew I was struggling with the disease still and had a lot to say about it. […]
So here we are, September 13, 2017, and this is officially Celiac Awareness Day. Kind of cool we get a day to bring awareness to our lovely autoimmune disease. So what am I aware of today? Let me count the ways. Are you aware […]
I am inquisitive guy. I ask people a lot of questions; sometimes Mrs. Dude thinks it’s a bit much. But the other side is not asking any questions. And what do we learn from that? (See…there’s another question.) So today, for my birthday, I’m […]
Let me just clarify what this is about right away. This is not about who makes the best gluten-free bread. It’s not just about the “horror” of the holes in Udi’s bread. That’s been discussed here and here. Yeah…I know there are much worse […]
It’s my birthday today. Yay me! What’s on my mind? Where do I start?? Borrowing an idea from Peter King at MMQ (ok fine…stealing it), here are 51 things I think I think. I think you may be wondering why 51 things. Ummm…no real […]
Two quick Dude notes before kicking things off: 1) This is my 600th blog post. Yowsa! Serious kudos to all of you for keeping this community rocking. I thought I’d run out of things to say after 6 blog posts. 2) I am WAY […]
A rare Sunday post I know. But did you know that today is Celiac Awareness Day? No…really…there’s such a thing. Pretty cool. Anyway, I couldn’t let the day go by without acknowledging this thing called celiac disease. But rather than me blather on and […]
Who I am. And who I'm not.
I AM someone who's been gluten-free since 2007 due to a diagnosis of severe celiac disease. I'm someone who can steer you in the right direction when it comes to going gluten-free. And I'm someone who will always give you the naked truth about going gluten free.
I AM NOT someone who embraces this gluten-free craziness. I didn’t find freedom, a better life or any of that other crap when I got diagnosed. With all due respect to Hunter S. Thompson, I found fear and loathing of an unknown world. But if I can share my wisdom, tell my stories and make the transition easier on you, I’ve done my job.
Send me a message
I'm all ears
