Did I Overreact to this ‘Gluten-Free Insurance’ Press Release?

July 23, 2019 | 20 Comments

So I was on Twitter last week when I came across a post by my friends at Celiac.com. (Note: They’re not my friends. And yes…I know Twitter is a cesspool, but it allows me to stay in touch with the celiac community.) The post […]

Pizza, GF Influencers & the Celiac Community

June 28, 2019 | 9 Comments

Two quick notes regarding the title of this post: 1) It took me way to long to come up with it…and I still think it stinks. 2) The word “influencers” makes my skin crawl. Can we proceed now? Great. Today we are talking about […]

Update on the below post. Perhaps I should have done more research before posting it. I believe in science. Dinosaurs: real. Climate change: real. Vaccines needed: real. You get the point. I try my best never to be swayed by public opinion. I’m also […]

What Recourse Do We Have When a Restaurant Lies to Us?

June 6, 2019 | 11 Comments

Maybe it’s just me…or perhaps it’s today’s political culture…but I just don’t find it difficult to tell the truth. More than that, I find it almost impossible to lie. Here’s an example: Dude, how old are you? I’m 43. Really? I’m 53. See? That […]

Why Celiac Awareness Matters

May 31, 2019 | 2 Comments

To summarize the end of Celiac Awareness Month (the good, the bad, the ugly – and as always, there was all three), I was going to write a poem. Why? I like writing poems. I wrote one to summarize CAW a few years back […]

May 10, 2019 | 26 Comments

I’m warning you ahead of time…this post may be a bit sloppy and all over the place (kinda like my sex life when I was younger) as I’m still trying to grapple with my thoughts behind it. Ok…here we go. As most of you […]

Need Your Help Passing the Gluten in Medicine Disclosure Act 2019

April 25, 2019 | 5 Comments

They say that common etiquette means not talking about sex, religion or politics. Hmmm…I’ve already talked about sex drive, if sperm is gluten free, and gluten-free sex for only $27. I’ve also discussed if you can pray your celiac away and if a church […]

The Gluten Dude App: For a Better Gluten-free Life

Eating out with celiac disease is stressful. The Gluten Dude app lists only restaurants that have been personally vetted, so you can spend less time worrying and more time enjoying yourself.

Who I am. And who I'm not.

Who I am. And who I'm not.

I AM someone who's been gluten-free since 2007 due to a diagnosis of severe celiac disease. I'm someone who can steer you in the right direction when it comes to going gluten-free. And I'm someone who will always give you the naked truth about going gluten free.

I AM NOT someone who embraces this gluten-free craziness. I didn’t find freedom, a better life or any of that other crap when I got diagnosed. With all due respect to Hunter S. Thompson, I found fear and loathing of an unknown world. But if I can share my wisdom, tell my stories and make the transition easier on you, I’ve done my job.
