Dear Gluten Dude
I get emails. Lots and lots of emails. People looking for answers. People sharing their stories. People asking if I’m single. Just kidding about that last one. I do my best to reply to every email and I post ones that may ring a chord with the community.
No time to waste today so I’m going right into it. This email is from a mom whose daughter has celiac, is making ALL of her own food at college, yet still has to pay for the $5,000 per year meal plan. Why? Because […]Read More
After a few tough weeks, I really wanted to post something positive today. Nothing about the media. Nothing about my health. Nothing about the trolls. Nothing about Henrik Lundqvist being out for 4 weeks. Hmmm…but what could I write about?? Maybe, just maybe, I’ll […]Read More
I just woke up from my Thanksgiving food coma. Let me know if I missed anything. While I LOVE getting emails from all of my fellow celiacs, there’s something special about receiving one from someone who’s much younger than I am. It’s a reminder […]Read More
It’s funny…yesterday I had the pleasure of being interviewed for a new documentary film about living with celiac disease and gluten intolerance. The filmmaker (and his daughter) both have celiac disease and he is producing this film to help get the truth out about […]Read More
Who I am. And who I'm not.
I AM someone who's been gluten-free since 2007 due to a diagnosis of severe celiac disease. I'm someone who can steer you in the right direction when it comes to going gluten-free. And I'm someone who will always give you the naked truth about going gluten free.
I AM NOT someone who embraces this gluten-free craziness. I didn’t find freedom, a better life or any of that other crap when I got diagnosed. With all due respect to Hunter S. Thompson, I found fear and loathing of an unknown world. But if I can share my wisdom, tell my stories and make the transition easier on you, I’ve done my job.
