Dear Gluten Dude
I get emails. Lots and lots of emails. People looking for answers. People sharing their stories. People asking if I’m single. Just kidding about that last one. I do my best to reply to every email and I post ones that may ring a chord with the community.
Just when I think this crappy disease can’t get any crappier…I get an email like the one below. This mom reached out to me because her soon to be 14-year-old son is depressed. You see…he has celiac disease and whenever he gets glutened, he […]Read More
Holy crap am I behind on emails. I’ve got emails from my fellow celiacs sitting in my inbox dating back to October. Yes…October of 2013 wise-ass. Between work, the blog, life, holidays, etc., I’m not always finding the time to keep up with my […]Read More
I feel lucky to have celiac disease. Let me rephrase that. I feel lucky to actually have the diagnosis of celiac disease. I get emails like the one below all the time. They come from people who have all of the celiac symptoms, but […]Read More
Yeah…yeah…I know. We’re healthier now so we don’t miss those evil gluten-filled foods. Blah, blah, blah. Just play the game. 🙂 I received the following email recently (actually October but who’s counting…yes I’m that backlogged) and it just got me thinking. Hmmmm…what would my […]Read More

Did you know that today is Celiac Awareness Day? That’s right…our disease is so big that we get our own special day to try to spread awareness. Heck, we even get our own month, which happens to be the month of May. (And yes…there […]Read More
Who I am. And who I'm not.
I AM someone who's been gluten-free since 2007 due to a diagnosis of severe celiac disease. I'm someone who can steer you in the right direction when it comes to going gluten-free. And I'm someone who will always give you the naked truth about going gluten free.
I AM NOT someone who embraces this gluten-free craziness. I didn’t find freedom, a better life or any of that other crap when I got diagnosed. With all due respect to Hunter S. Thompson, I found fear and loathing of an unknown world. But if I can share my wisdom, tell my stories and make the transition easier on you, I’ve done my job.
