Stop Spreading Fear: Part 1

December 11, 2013 | 41 Comments

Dude note: I’m breaking this post into two parts due to sheer laziness. This is a topic that needs some some serious discussion. But since I’m on vacation, I’m only going to scratch the surface today and then will delve deeper next week. Fear […]

To All Those Saying Celiacs Must Go Without on Thanksgiving…I Say "Stuff It"

November 25, 2013 | 29 Comments

That’s right…it’s time for my first recipe post EVER. We celebrated our first Thanksgiving yesterday. Why yesterday? Long story short: Mrs. Dude is Jewish and I’m Catholic so the tradition has always been we spend Thanksgiving with her family and Christmas with mine. But […]

October 11, 2013 | 183 Comments

I can put up with a lot of the celiac disease symptoms: the stomach pain, the joint pain, etc. I can tolerate the inconvenience of our disease when it comes to food. I can handle all of the crap that comes with celiac…except one […]

I do my best to not make this blog about me. It’s about us. Our community. And today’s post is no different. Yes…I have survived two years of blogging about all things celiac and gluten-free. I’m quite proud of that. But I didn’t make […]

Remind Me Why I Blog Again?!?!

September 26, 2013 | 62 Comments

So much anger in the world. Much of it justified. Let’s face it…the world is a mess out there. But sometimes…well, the anger is just misguided and misdirected. I blog so I am fair game for push back. You don’t like my Twinkies post […]

Who I am. And who I'm not.

Who I am. And who I'm not.

I AM someone who's been gluten-free since 2007 due to a diagnosis of severe celiac disease. I'm someone who can steer you in the right direction when it comes to going gluten-free. And I'm someone who will always give you the naked truth about going gluten free.

I AM NOT someone who embraces this gluten-free craziness. I didn’t find freedom, a better life or any of that other crap when I got diagnosed. With all due respect to Hunter S. Thompson, I found fear and loathing of an unknown world. But if I can share my wisdom, tell my stories and make the transition easier on you, I’ve done my job.
