Holy S**t…I’m 50!

June 22, 2015 | 19 Comments

Just a quickie today as I’m off to the gym and then to the beach. Yes, I’m actually taking a Monday off. So today…I turn 50. I’m officially on the back nine. I may not look 50. And lord knows I don’t act 50. […]

C’mon my Fellow Celiacs…Turn That Frown Upside Down

June 16, 2015 | 43 Comments

So…it seems some people weren’t too enamored with my “What are Some of the Things you Love About Celiac Disease?” blog post last week. For the record…no, I don’t love celiac disease. What’s the opposite word of love again? Time to whip out the […]

What are Some of the Things you Love About Celiac Disease?

June 10, 2015 | 122 Comments

Let me explain why I’m asking what you love about our crappy disease. And perhaps “love” is a strong word. How about “like”? Or “the bright side” of celiac? I write an article for the good folks over at Simply Gluten Free Magazine. For […]

After 517 Blog Posts…a Little Reflection…and a Little Frustration

June 5, 2015 | 45 Comments

Just between the two of us, I’m in a bit of a weird state with my blog right now. After 3.5 years and 517 blog posts, I’m beginning to wonder if I’m losing my edge a bit. I’m currently overwhelmed with work (and life) […]

Do Celiacs Have to Live in Fear?

May 27, 2015 | 22 Comments

HELL NO! Ok…now that I got that out of the way, let me explain. Celiac disease sucks. I know that. You know that. Not only does it suck, but there is so much bad info out there about our disease, that for the newly […]

Gluten in Probiotics. Who Can We Trust?

May 20, 2015 | 71 Comments

I’m in a pretty pissy mood this morning. Not only do I have the celiac cranks (fighting thru exhaustion and feeling “off”), but it was just announced that many probiotics that say “gluten-free” on the label actually…aren’t. Very nice. And just in time for […]

Jimmy Kimmel has tried. And failed. Jimmy Fallon has tried. And failed. Joy Behar? I have no idea what she was striving to accomplish. But she definitely failed (and made herself look like a jackass to boot). Seth Myers. Jennifer Lawrence. Rachael Ray. Ryan […]

Who I am. And who I'm not.

Who I am. And who I'm not.

I AM someone who's been gluten-free since 2007 due to a diagnosis of severe celiac disease. I'm someone who can steer you in the right direction when it comes to going gluten-free. And I'm someone who will always give you the naked truth about going gluten free.

I AM NOT someone who embraces this gluten-free craziness. I didn’t find freedom, a better life or any of that other crap when I got diagnosed. With all due respect to Hunter S. Thompson, I found fear and loathing of an unknown world. But if I can share my wisdom, tell my stories and make the transition easier on you, I’ve done my job.
