Just a quickie today as I’m off to the gym and then to the beach. Yes, I’m actually taking a Monday off. So today…I turn 50. I’m officially on the back nine. I may not look 50. And lord knows I don’t act 50. […]
Read MoreSo…it seems some people weren’t too enamored with my “What are Some of the Things you Love About Celiac Disease?” blog post last week. For the record…no, I don’t love celiac disease. What’s the opposite word of love again? Time to whip out the […]
Read MoreLet me explain why I’m asking what you love about our crappy disease. And perhaps “love” is a strong word. How about “like”? Or “the bright side” of celiac? I write an article for the good folks over at Simply Gluten Free Magazine. For […]
Read MoreJust between the two of us, I’m in a bit of a weird state with my blog right now. After 3.5 years and 517 blog posts, I’m beginning to wonder if I’m losing my edge a bit. I’m currently overwhelmed with work (and life) […]
Read MoreThis email poses a great question. Do I do what is right my MY situation? Or do I do what may not be necessary, but will make it easier for others in a similar situation in the future? She needs a solution in 48 […]
Read MoreHELL NO! Ok…now that I got that out of the way, let me explain. Celiac disease sucks. I know that. You know that. Not only does it suck, but there is so much bad info out there about our disease, that for the newly […]
Read MoreI’m in a pretty pissy mood this morning. Not only do I have the celiac cranks (fighting thru exhaustion and feeling “off”), but it was just announced that many probiotics that say “gluten-free” on the label actually…aren’t. Very nice. And just in time for […]

Read MoreSo last week, I had an idea to create celiac awareness. I wanted to create a page called “The Faces of Celiac Disease” and I asked that you send in your picture, the year you were diagnosed and what celiac disease means to you. […]
Read MoreTwo quick Dude Notes before I get going. Dude Note 1: Such an awesome response so far on the Faces of Celiac Disease. Many of you have asked me where you can view the wall (that’s what I’m calling it). Well…I’ve now got hundreds […]
Read MoreWho I am. And who I'm not.
I AM someone who's been gluten-free since 2007 due to a diagnosis of severe celiac disease. I'm someone who can steer you in the right direction when it comes to going gluten-free. And I'm someone who will always give you the naked truth about going gluten free.
I AM NOT someone who embraces this gluten-free craziness. I didn’t find freedom, a better life or any of that other crap when I got diagnosed. With all due respect to Hunter S. Thompson, I found fear and loathing of an unknown world. But if I can share my wisdom, tell my stories and make the transition easier on you, I’ve done my job.

I'm all ears
