Ugh…the media. What a disaster of a ride it’s been with them when it comes to celiac disease. From Jimmy Kimmel to Dr. Oz to Disney to the Today Show and on and on and on. Here…I do my best to take them all to task with the ultimate goal of getting people to take our disease more seriously.
Ok…I wasn’t going to touch this one. No seriously I wasn’t. It seems I’ve gotten a bit of a reputation as a “ranter” and people contacted me yesterday asking me for another Kardashian-type rant. But I was going to take a pass on this […]Read More
Yesterday was indeed a strange day in glutenville (glutentown? glutenburgh??). It’s days like yesterday that I think us celiacs need to hire a top public relations firm to help us rise above the noise of the media-created gluten hysteria. As I’ve said in the […]Read More
Somebody posted this video on Twitter yesterday and I must have watched it 10 times already. It speaks volumes not only to the difficulty of having celiac disease, but to the stigmatism sometimes attached to it. (If you can’t see the above video, here […]Read More

Who I am. And who I'm not.
I AM someone who's been gluten-free since 2007 due to a diagnosis of severe celiac disease. I'm someone who can steer you in the right direction when it comes to going gluten-free. And I'm someone who will always give you the naked truth about going gluten free.
I AM NOT someone who embraces this gluten-free craziness. I didn’t find freedom, a better life or any of that other crap when I got diagnosed. With all due respect to Hunter S. Thompson, I found fear and loathing of an unknown world. But if I can share my wisdom, tell my stories and make the transition easier on you, I’ve done my job.
