Doctors
Though the medical community has come a long way in the past 10 years, let’s just say they have a long way to go when it comes to celiac disease?
On today’s Dear Gluten Dude podcast, we’re talking about getting conflicting information from various doctors and who to trust and who to listen to when you are newly diagnosed with celiac disease. Podcast Transcription Welcome to Episode 2 of Dear Gluten Dude where I […]
In 2007, after a year of constant stomach pain and losing 15 pounds on an already pretty slim fit, I finally listened to Mrs. Dude and went to see a GI. (The lesson as usual? Mrs. Dude is always right and me…not so much.) After speaking […]
Can you believe it’s been a year with this f***ing pandemic? It’s been long. It’s been tough. It’s been depressing. And it’s been politicized. What a year. But I do believe there is hope on the horizon. And tell me Andy Dufresne, what is […]
I can’t eat gluten. Ever. And if you are reading this, I’m guessing you can’t eat gluten either. Ever. What happens when we do eat gluten? I asked this same question 3 years ago and here are some of the results: Exhaustion beyond belief […]
Ok…confession time. When it comes to celiac disease, I know tons and tons about the realities of the disease and how to best deal with the ins out outs of it. But when it comes to the actual medical lingo, I’m not quite as […]
Two years after my initial celiac diagnosis, I was still feeling like poop. My gastro ran a few extra tests and found nothing else wrong. Then he decided to re-scope me. Not to confirm that I actually had celiac disease. I did. But to […]
Hello everyone. It’s good to be back. Vacation was awesome and quite medicinal. I’ll tell you all about it in a future post, but for now I am in catch-up mode with my life a bit. So today I thought I’d share an unbelievable […]
Dude note: The holidays are all about giving. So I thought I’d take the 14 days after Thanksgiving and answer 14 emails I’ve received from my fellow celiacs asking for guidance. And I’d like this to be a communal effort. My advice, shocking as […]

So many topics to discuss: Pizza Hut teaming up with Udi’s, my daughter’s upcoming endoscopy, Coors Gluten-Free Beer, the (sad) PF Changs lawsuit, Cheerios marketing themselves as gluten free, and the list goes on and on. And I will get to all of these […]
Who I am. And who I'm not.
I AM someone who's been gluten-free since 2007 due to a diagnosis of severe celiac disease. I'm someone who can steer you in the right direction when it comes to going gluten-free. And I'm someone who will always give you the naked truth about going gluten free.
I AM NOT someone who embraces this gluten-free craziness. I didn’t find freedom, a better life or any of that other crap when I got diagnosed. With all due respect to Hunter S. Thompson, I found fear and loathing of an unknown world. But if I can share my wisdom, tell my stories and make the transition easier on you, I’ve done my job.
Send me a message
I'm all ears
