Celiac
Hey everyone…it’s me…Gluten Dude. Can’t see me? I’m up here…on my pedestal. There you go! Look…being a celiac can seriously suck sometimes. No need to sugarcoat it. And we’ve all had those “Crap…I didn’t pack any/enough food for the day!” moments. But when that […]
Read MoreHey everyone. I’m a bad celiac. I just found out that today is Celiac Awareness Day 2019. Where DOES the time go? It seems like it was just a year ago it was Celiac Awareness Day 2018. So what am I aware of today? […]
Read MoreTo summarize the end of Celiac Awareness Month (the good, the bad, the ugly – and as always, there was all three), I was going to write a poem. Why? I like writing poems. I wrote one to summarize CAW a few years back […]
Read MoreI’m warning you ahead of time…this post may be a bit sloppy and all over the place (kinda like my sex life when I was younger) as I’m still trying to grapple with my thoughts behind it. Ok…here we go. As most of you […]
Read MoreThey say that common etiquette means not talking about sex, religion or politics. Hmmm…I’ve already talked about sex drive, if sperm is gluten free, and gluten-free sex for only $27. I’ve also discussed if you can pray your celiac away and if a church […]
Read MoreThis post may contain a little bit TMI for some folks out there. No…I won’t be talking about Sonny and Cher, but about digestion and my…wait for it…poop. And more specifically how long it takes my body to process food, between the time I […]
Read MoreDude note that has nothing to do with this post: I’m sitting at a Starbucks on the corner of 57th and 10th, watching the bevy of activity outside and just absolutely digging living in NYC. —- So one of my Dudette’s is a sophomore […]
Read MoreSo I kinda suck at self-promotion. When I was a kid, I had zero self-esteem. I mean…get rid of ALL of the self-esteem in the world, and that’s how much I had. “Why is Scott always so quiet?” “Why is Scott so shy?” Little […]
Read MoreAfter almost exactly 7 years. After 691 posts. After 33,627 comments. After, after, after…it’s time to come out in the open. First…I don’t have celiac disease. I’ve never had celiac disease. I saw a business opportunity and went for it. . . . . […]
Read MoreScenario 1: It’s overtime and I’m taking the faceoff in a playoff hockey game in front of a full crowd. I win the draw and there is nobody in front of me as I rush to the net, but I push the puck too […]
Read MoreWho I am. And who I'm not.
I AM someone who's been gluten-free since 2007 due to a diagnosis of severe celiac disease. I'm someone who can steer you in the right direction when it comes to going gluten-free. And I'm someone who will always give you the naked truth about going gluten free.
I AM NOT someone who embraces this gluten-free craziness. I didn’t find freedom, a better life or any of that other crap when I got diagnosed. With all due respect to Hunter S. Thompson, I found fear and loathing of an unknown world. But if I can share my wisdom, tell my stories and make the transition easier on you, I’ve done my job.
Send me a message
I'm all ears
