Celiac Rants
I hate celiac. You hate celiac. We all hate celiac. With all that pent up anger, people need a place to vent. That’s one of the reasons I started this blog. There’s just one rule: Once you’re done venting, you need to move forward and put the negative vibes on the back burner. Positive energy brings positive results. Ready for some rants? Read on.
We need to be our own best advocates. I’ve been saying that for years. We simply cannot trust that the doctors word is final. Because far too often…it’s wrong. Especially when it comes to celiac disease. If you have not already, check out the […]
Read MoreWhere oh where does the time go? It’s been many months since I posted a reader’s celiac rant. I know somebody who has a friend with celiac disease. But they still eat gluten sometimes because “she must not have it as bad as you […]
Read MoreI’ve ranted. I’ve raved. I’ve spewed. I’ve joked. I’ve pleaded. I’ve begged. My bag of tricks is almost empty and instead of things getting better, they have actually gotten worse. Celiac disease is a f*cking joke. Not to me and you of course. But […]
Read MoreI’m done. I’m checking out. I’ve reached my limit. I don’t want celiac disease anymore. I don’t want to worry about every morsel of food that goes into my body. I don’t want the attention garnered on me at parties and dinners. I don’t […]
Read MoreAs 2012 comes to a close…I’m cleansing. Cleansing my blog (details to come). Cleansing my body. Cleansing my mind. Cleansing my soul. And most importantly…I’m cleansing my inbox. I have a whole lotta rants sitting in my email and haven’t had the time to […]
Read MoreOne night. That’s all I ask for. Just…one…night. One night where I can celebrate the holidays like everybody else does without feeling like shit. One night where I can imbibe in the pleasures of life a bit without paying the consequences. One night where […]
Read MoreWhen I was diagnosed five years ago with celiac disease, my doctor nailed it right away. I didn’t really think twice about it at the time. He’s a doctor. I was a sick patient. He did his job. But since I’ve started this blog, […]
Read MoreYou’ll get a few things from watching the following video. One…a good amount of adult language (you’ve been warned). Two…a great laugh. Three…a sense of how I’ve been the past 4 days. Yes, I got glutened. Yes, it was during my weekend in the […]
Read MoreDude note: This post was slightly updated on May 5, 2020 but was originally written in 2012. My…how time flies. ———— I may not make many friends with the gluten-free food industry with this post, but here goes nothing. And in no way am […]
Read MoreForgive me celiacs for I have sinned. It has been two weeks since my last celiac rant. Yes…I am a bit backed up on the rants. For those who have sent one to me and I have not published, my apologies. It’s been a […]
Read MoreWho I am. And who I'm not.
I AM someone who's been gluten-free since 2007 due to a diagnosis of severe celiac disease. I'm someone who can steer you in the right direction when it comes to going gluten-free. And I'm someone who will always give you the naked truth about going gluten free.
I AM NOT someone who embraces this gluten-free craziness. I didn’t find freedom, a better life or any of that other crap when I got diagnosed. With all due respect to Hunter S. Thompson, I found fear and loathing of an unknown world. But if I can share my wisdom, tell my stories and make the transition easier on you, I’ve done my job.
Send me a message
I'm all ears
