Happy Mom's Day to Some Awesome Gluten-Free Bloggers

mothers-day
Dude Note: To honor Celiac Awareness Month and to help raise awareness of our disease, I will be attempting 31 blog posts in 31 days. My goal is simple: to make most of them not suck. If you’ve got ideas for a good post or if you’d like to guest blog, by all means, contact me. Your input is more than welcome. And if you know anybody with celiac disease, give them some extra lovin’ this month. They deserve it.

A special shout-out today to some of my favorite female gluten-free bloggers.

Whether you are a mom or not, today we celebrate you!

Thank you for sharing your stories.

Thank you for opening your hearts.

Thank you for sharing your recipes.

Thank you for spreading awareness.

Thank you for being such awesome voices in our community.

I KNOW I forgot some of you. It either means I couldn’t find a picture or I spaced out. My apologies in advance.

And of course, an extra special shout out to my mom, for whom if it wasn’t for her genes, I wouldn’t have celiac disease.

Totally kidding mom…thanks for EVERYTHING. I love you!

  1. A simple yet powerful message you send to all the matriarchs in all of our families. What a nice tribute you give to Mothers. Thank you for this and other posts you’ve provided.

    Regards,

    Dougie

  2. After I was diagnosed my parents both got tested, and both were negative. My dad proudly proclaimed “well, she didn’t get it from me!”. Nice try dad! I’ve always told my parents that I’d rather have bad genes and good parents than good genes and bad parents!

  3. Happy Monday GD! Thank you for including me in this stellar list of GF bloggers. I appreciate the mention! Sending good GF energy your way. Hope you and your awesome dudettes have a good week.

  6. I just teared up a bit, I didn’t see this until now and now I’m all emotional. Thanks Gluten Dude. I love being able to share the blogosphere with these amazing women – and dudes 🙂

  7. Looking at the pictures of the gf bloggers that you know, I see you have my favorite, Jules, up there!! I went to a cooking class of hers here in State College, Pa and was so relieved that I could actually make my own food and bread and chocolate chip cookies, without resorting to the prepackaged junk out there. Sorry, but it is tasteless and boring and so so expensive. Finally I tasted real bread and scones, and for a short while I went baking crazy and gained some unneeded weight… so I had to find that balance, and now and then can indulge. She was a life saver though!! If you are reading this, thanks Jules!!
Thank you Dude also, for all the information, and outlet for telling stories and reading other people’s stories. I look forward to reading your blog! It makes me smile and laugh, and sometimes cry..

  8. Marcia, thank you so much! You just made my day!!! I can’t tell you how happy that makes me, to hear that I’ve been able to help you make your journey to gluten-free happy and tasty!! Maybe I’ll see you in State College for a class again one day!
    🙂

Who I am. And who I'm not.

Who I am. And who I'm not.

I AM someone who's been gluten-free since 2007 due to a diagnosis of severe celiac disease. I'm someone who can steer you in the right direction when it comes to going gluten-free. And I'm someone who will always give you the naked truth about going gluten free.

I AM NOT someone who embraces this gluten-free craziness. I didn’t find freedom, a better life or any of that other crap when I got diagnosed. With all due respect to Hunter S. Thompson, I found fear and loathing of an unknown world. But if I can share my wisdom, tell my stories and make the transition easier on you, I’ve done my job.
