Let's Help a Fellow Celiac Get on The Ellen DeGeneres Show

ellen degeneres celiac

Want to help raise celiac awareness in a major way? All you need to do is fill out a simple form. Really…it’s that easy.

Here’s the deal.

Dominick Cura is a 14-year-old celiac on a mission. He has his own blog. He’s been on the news. He has self-published a gluten-free cookbook. He is making a documentary about celiac disease to “show people Celiac isn’t the end of the world, but the beginning of a new one.”

And now, Dominick wants to get on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to help raise awareness about celiac disease.

How cool is that? When I was 14, my biggest goal was not to drool on myself when talking to girls. I’d say Dominick’s aspirations are a bit higher than mine were.

First…let’s get to know Dominick a bit.

Pretty cool kid, right?

Well this cool kid is doing everything he can to get on The Ellen Degeneres Show to talk about his disease…our disease.

Why The Ellen Show? His reasoning is simple.

“Because she has such a large audience, I would be able to inform everyone about Celiac and what it is.”

He even started his own Facebook page just for this cause. Check it out.

I’d like us to band together and help Dominick reach his goal. I am calling on all celiacs to help the cause. How sweet would this victory be if we can get Dominick on the show?

Here is all you need to do. I promise it won’t take more than 2 minutes and dang it, you’ll just feel good about yourself for doing it.

Click here to go to The Ellen Show website and fill out the short form.

Where it says “Tell Us Your Story”, just copy and paste the following:

Ellen…please consider having Dominick Cura on your show. He is an inspirational, personable 14-year-old with celiac disease who is doing his absolute best to raise awareness for our disease.

He has his own blog. He has already published a gluten-free cookbook. He is making a documentary about celiac disease to show it’s not the end of the world but the beginning of a new one. And dang it, he’s as cute as a button.

He has already been on the local news. You can watch the video here: http://glutendude.com/media/lets-help-a-fellow-celiac-get-on-the-ellen-show/

And now he wants to take his message nationally.

Why The Ellen Show? Well, in his words, “Because she has such a large audience.” Smart man.

You can email him at eternallyglutenfree@gmail.com.

Many thanks for your consideration.

With love and gratitude,
The Gluten Dude Community

And please, please share this page with as many of your fellow celiacs as you can.

We’re going big-time folks.

  2. Dude-

Very cool. Smart guy you are too. If the media is portraying us in a inaccurate light-let’s go to the media and show them who we really are. Love it.

  3. I attempted to fill out the form on Ellen’s site and it won’t let me submit. Apparently the email address is invalid. I tried to visit his site to get the correct address and his site is down. Would love to help but unfortunately I’m not able to at this time?

  4. Hi Gluten Dude.

I really cannot thank you enough. If I get on the Ellen show I really will have to thank you on her show. I know this post has certainly helped me a lot so far. Thanks.

By the way I have to tell you how much I love all of your posts. I actually learned about all the Celac media debalces from your posts. So thanks for your great posts as well. 🙂

  5. Thank you for sharing that video clip of him. It’s so refreshing to see a journalism piece on celiac that’s actually informative and doesn’t make me cringe. Way to go Seattle!

Who I am. And who I'm not.

Who I am. And who I'm not.

I AM someone who's been gluten-free since 2007 due to a diagnosis of severe celiac disease. I'm someone who can steer you in the right direction when it comes to going gluten-free. And I'm someone who will always give you the naked truth about going gluten free.

I AM NOT someone who embraces this gluten-free craziness. I didn’t find freedom, a better life or any of that other crap when I got diagnosed. With all due respect to Hunter S. Thompson, I found fear and loathing of an unknown world. But if I can share my wisdom, tell my stories and make the transition easier on you, I’ve done my job.
