Jimmy Fallon…What Did We Ever Do To You?

November 20, 2013 | 122 Comments

Another day…another blog post where I need to defend my fellow celiacs from the media whores who keep piling on. Watch the video above (or here). This may be about as bad as I’ve seen. And I didn’t want to do this today. I’m […]

November 19, 2013 | 213 Comments

I had a dream last night. I was at a gluten-free convention. This one booth had two different rice dishes set up for people to taste. I grabbed a fork and excitedly took a few bites of one of the dishes. Only after I […]

November 15, 2013 | 20 Comments

Mrs. Dude turns XX today. We are celebrating by taking our Dudette, who broke her arm on Wednesday, in for elbow surgery. Yeah…good times. But I didn’t want the day to pass without Mrs. Dude knowing that I’d be lost without her. That my […]

November 11, 2013 | 52 Comments

For years, Mrs. Dude has been trying to come up with a name for me when I get glutened (besides the typical curse words she deservedly calls me under her breath). Well…after convincing her that Breaking Bad is the best thing since sliced bread […]

Dear Media: Please Shut the Hell Up

November 8, 2013 | 46 Comments

It’s official…we’re a punchline. We’re whiny. We’re difficult. We’re privileged. But most of all…we’re a joke. Gluten-free is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Who to blame? Where do I start??? I blame the idiotic marketing companies who have turned gluten-free into a […]

Who I am. And who I'm not.

Who I am. And who I'm not.

I AM someone who's been gluten-free since 2007 due to a diagnosis of severe celiac disease. I'm someone who can steer you in the right direction when it comes to going gluten-free. And I'm someone who will always give you the naked truth about going gluten free.

I AM NOT someone who embraces this gluten-free craziness. I didn’t find freedom, a better life or any of that other crap when I got diagnosed. With all due respect to Hunter S. Thompson, I found fear and loathing of an unknown world. But if I can share my wisdom, tell my stories and make the transition easier on you, I’ve done my job.
