A Little G-Free Humor to End Your Week

gfree humor

There are so many lame attempts at gluten-free humor out there.

Most of it is just mean-spirited because it’s done by people who don’t have gluten issues.

Here is a perfect example. It is so lame…and it’s done by a, cough-cough, comedy troupe.

But when it’s done right? It’s oh so sweet.

So not sure if you are aware of Lorde, but she is a 16 year-old singer with a rocking voice and a cool song called Royals. Here’s the song:

Now check out what this guy did. Using the same tune, he put together a song about the Royals Chocolate Bar and how it’s not gluten-free.

Creative. Entertaining. Not insulting.

That’s comedy.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Oh…and if you’re in NYC Friday night (October 18), I’ll be at the Cure Celiac fundraiser at EVR Lounge. First one’s on me. Here’s some info.

    1. Dear Jules,
Your book “Celiac Disease: The First Year” was one of the first books I read when I was Dxed and I wanted to say thank you!
I recommend it highly to others and make sure it put it in my
” Newbie “advice messages on celiac.com
And I also thank you for sharing so much with the celiac/GF community on your website and in Living Without Magazine.
I also know you work tirelessly for celiac awareness and helped to get the new G F labeling standard in place.
So, from this celiac’s heart—thank you, thank you, thank you!
      You’re amazing.
      Cheers!

  1. That song is so awesome, I can relate to almost all of it!

The ‘comedy troupe’ who made the ‘funny’ commercial for a gluten free dating website commented saying the sketch was written by a “highly allergic, gluten-free woman who is not afraid to laugh at her situation”. I don’t know if I should believe them or not… Although I was glad to see no comments making fun of GF people.

  2. Love that song and that beautiful girl’s voice and the parody was simply hilarious.
🙂 I laughed right out loud
Thanks so much for sharing…..and go!! have a wonderful time in my NYC.!! Cheers,xx

  3. I laughed outloud and then watched it several more times to memorize it… LOL. Thank you Gluten Dude. You made my day!

Who I am. And who I'm not.

Who I am. And who I'm not.

I AM someone who's been gluten-free since 2007 due to a diagnosis of severe celiac disease. I'm someone who can steer you in the right direction when it comes to going gluten-free. And I'm someone who will always give you the naked truth about going gluten free.

I AM NOT someone who embraces this gluten-free craziness. I didn’t find freedom, a better life or any of that other crap when I got diagnosed. With all due respect to Hunter S. Thompson, I found fear and loathing of an unknown world. But if I can share my wisdom, tell my stories and make the transition easier on you, I’ve done my job.
