Hey everyone. Happy Friday. Unless of course you aren’t reading this on a Friday…then happy [day of the week]. Need a favor from you. We all know it can be a pain in the ass eating out as a celiac or someone with NCGS. But eating in a dedicated gluten free restaurant? Pure heaven. Total peace of mind. Eating without fear. What a concept.

So…I am building a mobile app, which among other things, will list all dedicated gluten-free restaurants in the US and Canada (will expand soon after). But where all they are all? What if I’m traveling?? What do I do??? (Am I being dramatic enough?)

And this is where the favor comes in. It will take me forever to try to find them all and I want to get this launched asap so…in the comments below, please (pretty please) let me know all of the 100% gluten-free restaurants in your area. And they MUST be 100%. No exceptions. Let me know the:

      I love Picazzo’s! I think it should be noted though that they are not a dedicated GF facility. Two of their pizza doughs contain gluten. It drives me nuts that they are 95% GF but not 100%. Why not just go all the way?

      I love Picazzo’s and have always felt safe as a Celiac eating here. I go to the location on Union Hills in Glendale and was introduced by a long time Celiac who was my (and still is) mentor after my January (2019) diagnosis. Be warned that this isn’t completely a dedicated facility. It is a place that is EXTREMELY Celiac friendly but also allows non-GF friends and family to chose a few non-GF things off the menu. Their GF options are so good that I have heard (from the next tables) many a non-GF person exclaim after trying their GF pasta that it tastes just as good.

      Also in Nova Scotia there is a casual seafood restaurant with dedicated gluten-free fryers and staff who are educated on celiac disease. They do serve a couple of items that are NOT gluten free but I would like to recommend this restaurant anyway because they have an excellent reputation:

      You beat me to those, Jennifer! 😀 I second what you said! Pushkins is incredible – my faves are the Lemon Tarts, Coffee Cakes, Meyer Lemon bars, I had my first Salted Caramel Chocolate tart and Rsapberry Lemon Curd cupcakes this week – WOW.
      Donut Sundays are a treat, with the Strawberry Gremlins and Apple Fritters topping my faves.
      There is a Roseville (near Sacramento) location of Pushkin’s coming within just a few months… they’ll be open for dinner service!

Fabulous breakfast and lunch meals and breads, dinner buns and treats like cheese scones, coconut and lemon tarts, Chocolate Puddle cookies, and cinnamon buns, to eat there and take home.       Beyond Bread in London is unbelievable! They have the best gf bread and baguettes in the world, I think. They will make you a panini from the baguette. It was almost a religious experience……..it’s worth battling traffic in London to eat there.

      I also second Leggero. Not cheap but rents are high in London. You can eat anything they have and not worry about cc or taking a hit. The place was packed when we ate there so 100% gf eateries are in demand! It’s so nice to eat out and not have to go through my Celiac spiel……

    Hey Dude, I’m noticing some people just putting the address and not really indicating the area. When you do your list, maybe include the “major metropolitan area” to make it easier for people to find a place. For example, here in the Lower Mainland of BC, putting the address and then the Greater Vancouver Area makes it easier for peeps like me to locate something nearby enough that I’ll make the trip. Just a thought.

    Absolutely the best gluten free cafe and Bakery on Vancouver Island. Fabulous breakfast and lunch meals and breads, dinner buns and treats like cheese scones, coconut and lemon tarts, Chocolate Puddle cookies, and cinnamon buns, to eat there and take home. Phone and preorder before you visit, then have lunch when you arrive. When finished, bring your bags of GFree goodies home!

      I got glutened really badly at The Little Beet Table so just be careful. I can only imagine that they must let employees bring in outside food and prep it in the kitchen (which–I’ve heard from a dedicated GF restaurant owner–happens more than we know).

    All of our baked goods are made from SCRATCH, which seems to be a rarity these days. Our NON-GMO flour blends are created here, we use ingredients like REAL carrots, organic coconut oil, cage free eggs…heck, the red for our red velvet items are achieved using BEETS!     Some of you may not know this, but our entire bakery is gluten free! (everybody, stick around!!) All our blends are made with a variety of non-gmo and gluten free flours combined to bring you the best textures. A LOT of our line up is also dairy free. How sweet is that? I mean sweet, because if you can’t eat dairy (or gluten), you can feel safe eating your treats from Happy Bellies!

I AM someone who's been gluten-free since 2007 due to a diagnosis of severe celiac disease. I'm someone who can steer you in the right direction when it comes to going gluten-free. And I'm someone who will always give you the naked truth about going gluten free.
