Travel Success (& Horror) Stories

Does anyone have any suggestions for GF restaurants on the big island of Hawaii? For part of the trip, we will be at Hapuna Prince resort, have stayed there before and they can do GF well (6 nights, not a single symptom, aware of cross-contamination). But we will also travel to Volcano Park, and have not been there since my celiac diagnosis. Would love recommendations, thanks in advance!

I just came home from a Hawaii trip last week.
We stayed at the Fairmont Kea Lani in Maui on Wailea.
      It was amazing.
They are totally prepared for GF guests.
THey have steamed rice every morning (so good with scrambled eggs and cheese and bacon) and they have a hot dish every morning on the buffet that is specifically gluten free. Also rolls, scones and muffins are avail.

At the pool, you can order a grilled cheese sandwich for your kids, inexpensively with chips on gf bread prepared in a gf kitchen.
The other restaurants on the premises also accommodate you. Especially Nic’s Fish House.
I used find me gluten free app which referred me to the Tommy Bahama restaurant. But honestly, it wasn’t great.
We went to sushi at SenSai which had gf soy sauce.

We went to Monkeypod which was great
We went to Cafe AuLei which has gf pizza and other good stuff.

It was a wonderful worry free trip.

I live in Hawaii and I’ve been seeing there’s more gluten free items on menus. Call place ahead of time. ALso grocery stores have GF sections.
