July 13, 2012 | 60 Comments

A month or so ago, I was in the midst of a pretty crappy stretch health-wise and went all-out to find a cause and a solution for my health woes. Truthfully, it’s been up and down since my diagnosis in 2007 and I simply […]

Celiac Rant-of-the-Day: Don't be Such an Ass to My 6-Year-Old Celiac!

July 12, 2012 | 25 Comments

I think we can all agree that having celiac disease pretty much sucks at any age. But when a child is diagnosed, it just adds an extra layer of suckness to it. And you would think that people would go out of their way […]

Gluten-Free Beer: A New Era

July 11, 2012 | 150 Comments

My name is Gluten Dude and I’m a beer snob. It wasn’t always this way. My dad drank Carling’s Black Label while I was growing up so that was my first exposure to beer. Although calling Black Label beer is being generous. He’d give […]

A Cure for Celiac Disease: An Endoscopy?

July 9, 2012 | 36 Comments

“Dude…you’re an idiot. You’ve got that totally backwards! An endoscopy is a way to diagnose celiac disease; not treat it.” That may be true (both parts actually), but hear me out. If you recall from last month, I was going through a very rough […]

If You're Gluten-Free, You're a Picky Eater

July 6, 2012 | 56 Comments

Once again, us celiacs been lumped together with other “picky eaters”. The above video was from the Kathy Lee and Hoda show a few days ago. My apologies for the crappy quality, but it’s not nearly as crappy as the quality of the show […]

Celiac Rant-of-the-Day: I Want to Punch People in the Face

June 26, 2012 | 80 Comments

I hate celiac. You hate celiac. We all hate celiac. With all that pent up anger, people need a place to vent. Well…I invite you to lie on the Dude’s couch (figuratively speaking) and spew away. I’m starting a new feature called “Celiac Rant […]

Gluten Dude: The mobile app that puts your safety first!

All the tools you need for a simpler gluten-free journey, brought to you by a passionate celiac disease advocate who understands the challenges you face.

Who I am. And who I'm not.

Who I am. And who I'm not.

I AM someone who's been gluten-free since 2007 due to a diagnosis of severe celiac disease. I'm someone who can steer you in the right direction when it comes to going gluten-free. And I'm someone who will always give you the naked truth about going gluten free.

I AM NOT someone who embraces this gluten-free craziness. I didn’t find freedom, a better life or any of that other crap when I got diagnosed. With all due respect to Hunter S. Thompson, I found fear and loathing of an unknown world. But if I can share my wisdom, tell my stories and make the transition easier on you, I’ve done my job.
