Media

Ugh…the media. What a disaster of a ride it’s been with them when it comes to celiac disease. From Jimmy Kimmel to Dr. Oz to Disney to the Today Show and on and on and on. Here…I do my best to take them all to task with the ultimate goal of getting people to take our disease more seriously.

The South Beach Diet Goes Gluten Free

April 3, 2013 | 39 Comments

23,000,000. That’s the number of book sales for the original South Beach Diet by Dr. Arthur Agatston. Not too shabby. I once wrote a book called The Bartender’s Handbook: Making Drinks and Making Money. I think it had about 23 sales. Very shabby. I […]

So many gluten-free things we could discuss today. Should we talk about how Gwyneth Paltrow consistently talks about gluten-free, releases a gluten-free cookbook and then says she and her family eat bread and pasta? Should we talk about how 1 in 3 people are […]

I am taking a one-day reprieve from our wonderful Gluten-Free Love Stories series because today…I am not feeling the love. Once again, I feel the need to go into celiac defense mode. I am so friggin’ sick of this. Dr. Davis wrote a book […]

A Disturbing Trend

January 17, 2013 | 86 Comments

I really thought we were making a dent in celiac awareness. I had convinced myself that the gluten-free fad was just that…a fad that had begun to run its course. I led myself to believe that 2012 would be the year that we’d shift […]

Gluten Dude: The mobile app that puts your safety first!

All the tools you need for a simpler gluten-free journey, brought to you by a passionate celiac disease advocate who understands the challenges you face.

Who I am. And who I'm not.

Who I am. And who I'm not.

I AM someone who's been gluten-free since 2007 due to a diagnosis of severe celiac disease. I'm someone who can steer you in the right direction when it comes to going gluten-free. And I'm someone who will always give you the naked truth about going gluten free.

I AM NOT someone who embraces this gluten-free craziness. I didn’t find freedom, a better life or any of that other crap when I got diagnosed. With all due respect to Hunter S. Thompson, I found fear and loathing of an unknown world. But if I can share my wisdom, tell my stories and make the transition easier on you, I’ve done my job.
